The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum will present a Speaker Series talk on this cataclysmic conflict titled “Ford at War: World War I” on Sunday, August 11 at 10 a.m. Using photographs and other historical material, museum Trustee Mike Skinner will explore the history of Henry Ford and Ford Motor Company based on the book, Ford: In the Service of America, by Tim O-Callahan. The first World War began 110 years ago in the summer of 1914. The war and its aftermath changed the world forever, and the City of Detroit played a key role in the success of the Allied Forces. This event will take place on the first floor of the museum with coffee, juice and breakfast items served. Tickets are $20 per person or free for museum members. (Members, please call or email to be added to the Will Call). Following the presentation, guests can add on a guided tour of the museum for an additional $10.
